The Macdonald Block Complex Disentanglement
Project Description: The Macdonald Block Complex, consisting of four towers that all connect in one podium building is entangled with the reminder of the Queen’s Park precinct buildings. Services such as Enwave-supplied chilled water, steam, domestic water, hydro, fire alarm, building controls, BAS run from one building to another. These entangled buildings include the Whitney Block, the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, the surrounding landscape, the TTC tunnel and some surface parking.
The intent of this disentanglement project was to make the Macdonald Block Complex a stand-alone facility that has no service connections to the surrounding precinct.
